An organic French type shallot
Days to Maturity: 110
An organic variety, Conservor Organic F1 Shallot is grown as a bulb vegetable. A French type, Conservor has an elongated, slightly teardrop shape with papery reddish-copper skins and deep pink flesh. It has a fine texture and a delicate, sweet flavor, between onion and garlic. A single-bulb shallot, it typically does not divide into multiple bulbs like traditional shallots. It is easy to peel, with no skin between doubles, and has a long storage life. Eat raw or cooked.
Conservor Organic F1 Shallot is an annual that prefers full sun and loose, fertile, moist but well-drained, sandy, limey loams with a pH of 6.0 to 7.0. Keep shallots well weeded. Deer, rabbit, and black walnut resistant.
Direct sow shallot seed in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. Shallots are more likely to form a single bulb when plants are spaced close together.
